Labour Councillors urge residents to respond to consultation on Council Tax supportPosted: July 20, 2016
The city council is seeking residents’ views on the future of its council tax support scheme. Following decisions made at the council’s budget meeting last February, a range of options have been prepared for public consultation on how much discount should be given to households with low incomes.
Speaking on behalf of fellow Labour councillors, Cllr Stephen Morgan, deputy leader of the Council’s Labour Group, urged residents to let the Council know their views:
“This is a very important consultation – the outcome of which is likely to have a major effect on the vulnerable and those families most in need across our communities. It is crucial everyone has their say. I urge everyone to respond”.
The consultation runs until 29 September 2016.
